Parentis-en-Born lies just a few kilometres from Biscarrosse, a destination known for the wide range of water sports on offer. In Grands Lacs, no less than 4km of beaches await! Sunbathing, surfing or canoeing: whatever you’re into, there’s something for everyone.
Biscarrosse, the seaside resort that charms so many guests each year, is also the seaplane capital. A town rich with cultural heritage, Biscarrosse is home to several museums dedicated to its history and development: discover the seaplane museum and the museum of local customs. The little church of Saint Martin, steeped in reverence and charm, will captivate even the most mystic, while fans of old stones admire the 15th century architecture.
20 minutes from the town centre, the village of Biscarrosse-Plage offers holiday makers a change of pace from the hustle and bustle of city living. On the beach, there’s no shortage of ice creams and paninis.
Stop off in Mimizan, the cutest of all the villages in the pays de Born. Get back to nature on the tourist route for the Etang de la Mailloueyre, where young and old alike will marvel at the local flora and fauna. As for the beach, it can be eerily quiet at times, with the wind beating down on the huge dunes. This corner of the Landes region is impossible to forget! Fancy climbing to the top of the biggest sand dune in the world to enjoy amazing views of the surrounding areas? Head for the dune du Pilat, it’ll take your breath away.

Tradition essential, Parentis-en-Born also organises their own feria! Red and white play an important part in the folklore costumes. So, if you’re invited to a traditional celebration and told to get your red and white ready, don’t get mixed up, your hosts aren’t talking about wine!

Don’t miss the Marqueze Eco Museum in Sabres, just 30 minutes from your residence. Nestled in the heart of the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park, it can only be reached via the tourist train, of which the cars, classed as a historical monument themselves, date back to the early 1900s!
Then, head for the bay of Arcachon, and maybe even climb to the lighthouse of cap Ferret? We hope you like oysters, because here, they serve them all kinds of ways! And you can dig in without worrying about the calories: as the chemin de Saint Jacques de Compostelle, or Way of St. James, runs along Arcachon Bay. You can walk for miles and burn off those midday crepinettes.
Unless you prefer cycling? You’re in luck, as a section of the Velodyssee runs from Biscarosse-Plage to Parentis-en-Born (25km), and then Parentis-en-Born to Mimizan-Plage (31km).

It is a local bistro cuisine with fresh products that you will enjoy here. You might as well enjoy a glass of wine or a pint of beer accompanied by a nice plate of cold cuts. Discover a warm decoration, in this former 19th century post office, which has become, since its opening, a must for the locals.
The Parentis Arena, covered since 2019, was built by Roland Portalier, then mayor of the city in 1927. Their free visit is organized by a member of the tourist office. These arenas host many shows dedicated to Landes festivals such as the toro (where the recortadores compete in races and jumps to avoid the bulls running at them) or the croque caches.
On the lake of Cazaux de Sanguinet, these inflatables will entertain the whole family. The youngest, from 4 to 10 years old, will have their own space, while those over 18 years old will be able to take off over the lake from the giant catapult!
Visit Bisca Loisirs for water sports activities: stand-up paddle, big paddle, Indian canoe (where the whole family can get on board the same canoe) and rafting paddle down the Eyre!

Parentis-en-Born se trouve à seulement quelques bornes de Biscarrosse, destination réputée pour les nombreuses activités nautiques disponibles. Aux Grands Lacs, 4 km de plages n’attendent que vous ! Bronzette, surf ou canoë : quel que soit votre niveau, il y a forcément une activité pour vous.
Biscarrosse, station balnéaire qui séduit chaque année de nombreux voyageurs, c’est aussi la capitale de l’hydraviation. Ville authentique et riche de son patrimoine culturel, elle accueille plusieurs musées consacrés à son histoire et son évolution : découvrez le musée de l’Hydraviation et le musée des Traditions. La petite église Saint-Martin, toute empreinte de charme et de recueillement, envoûtera les plus mystiques, tandis que les amateurs de vieilles pierres admireront son architecture du XVe siècle.
À 20 minutes du centre-ville, le village de Biscarrosse-plage offre aux vacanciers un rythme de vie à mille bornes de l’agitation urbaine. Sur la plage, glaces et paninis sont au rendez-vous.
Faites également un détour par Mimizan, la plus mimi des communes du pays de Born. Renouez avec la nature sur le sentier de découverte L’Etang de la Mailloueyre, où petits et grands s’émerveilleront devant la faune et la flore locale. Quant à la plage Remember, elle se pare d’un paysage fantomatique, avec ses grandes dunes battues par le vent. Impossible d’oublier ce coin de pays landais ! Envie de grimper au sommet de la plus grande dune de sable du monde pour profiter d’une vue sur les alentours ? Direction la dune du Pilat, qui va vous couper le souffle.

Alors, si vous êtes invité à une fête traditionnelle et qu’on vous dit de prévoir le rouge et le blanc, ne vous trompez pas, vos hôtes ne parlent pas du vin !

Plusieurs parcs de loisirs consacrés aux petits aventuriers en herbe laisseront de bons souvenirs à toute la famille. Réservez une journée au Bisc’Aventure ou allez barboter entre les structures gonflables de l’AquaPark.
Vous pourrez aussi pêcher et vous initier à divers sports nautiques, ou simplement déambuler sur le port de Parentis-en-Born, à 5 minutes à pied de la résidence Le Domaine des Grands Lacs★★★. Non loin de votre location d’appartement à Biscarrosse, le lac de Cazaux fait aussi le bonheur des amateurs de farniente, avec ses longues plages qui sentent bon le sable chaud.
À Sabres, à 30 minutes de votre résidence, ne ratez pas l’Ecomusée de Marquèze. Niché au cœur du Parc naturel régional des Landes de Gascogne, il n’est accessible que par le train des résiniers, dont les voitures, classées Monument Historique, datent du début des années 1900 !
Dirigez-vous ensuite du côté du bassin d’Arcachon : cap ou pas cap (Ferret) de grimper jusqu’au phare ? On espère que vous aimez les huîtres, parce que vous allez en goûter à toutes les sauces ! Faites-vous plaisir sans vous soucier des calories : le chemin de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle longe le bassin d’Arcachon. Vous allez pouvoir marcher pendant une vingtaine de kilomètres et éliminer les calories des crépinettes dégustées à midi.
